Contemporary Literature as a Pedagogical Tool for Teaching English in the Digital Era

The digital revolution has changed English language teaching in a big way by bringing in new technologies and more learner-focused teaching methods. In this shifting educational landscape, contemporary literature has become a useful resource for helping students learn language and build critical thinking skills. Contemporary literary texts reflect modern social realities, multicultural experiences, and the way people actually use language today, which makes them especially relevant for learners. This paper looks at how contemporary literature can be used in English language teaching in the digital era through digital platforms, multimedia resources, and interactive learning spaces. It argues that combining contemporary literature with digital technology can support language proficiency, cultural awareness, critical literacy, and student engagement. The study concludes that contemporary literature acts as a bridge between traditional literary studies and modern digital teaching practices.
